It's Christmas Cookie Giving Time of Year
Organize your own cookie swap this year!

This holiday season consider hosting a Christmas Cookie Giving party. It's the latest rage, and the upside is that you don't have to prepare anything but the coffee and tea. Your "guests" will provide the refreshments! Here's how the cookie exchange works.....
1. Make it festive! Invite at least six of your friends/family members to a cookie exchange party. Send out invitations with all the relevant information: When, where, what time, and what to bring. 2. Everyone invited brings only one of his/her specialty cookies....but in big quantities (1 dozen for every person invited) I know that you don't need further explanation...but indulge me. If you've invited six guests, then each guest brings six dozen of his/her best cookie recipe. 3. Ask all your invitees to send you their recipes beforehand. That way, you can make a special cookie cookbook for everyone to take home with their goodies. 4. Everyone must bring their own plastic (or other) containers to take their cookies home with them. 5. Have contests: give prizes for the most original decorated cookie, the best drop cookie, etc. Have fun with this idea! 6. Make it an annual event. You'll have a great time, establish a meaningful tradition, and get great cookie recipe ideas to boot! 7. Don't forget your cameras! You'll want to snap pictures of all the fun...and the cookies! To get you started, here are some of my favorite Christmas Cookie Giving recipe ideas: Basic Sugar Cookie Recipe Toffee Squares Rum Balls Mom's Strudel (not for the faint of heart) Jelly Jewel Cookies Peppermint Pinwheel Cookies Santa Claus Cookie Pops--Try making this recipe with the kids for holiday fun!
